Amigurumi Baby Koala Free Pattern

A peaceful Koala. Hope you will like him!

Materials and Tool:

Yarn : light beige, mustard, gray, green and dark brown yarn.

Fiberfill, scissors, some pins

Hook: suitable with your yarn. I used 2.0 mm hook with sport yarn and my Koala is 10 cm tall.

LEG : Make two, begin with light beige.

The first leg:

Rnd 1: 7 sc on the magic ring (7)
Rnd 2: 7 inc (14)
Rnd 3: 14 sc (14)
Rnd 4: 3 sc, 4 dec, 3 sc (10)
Rnd 5 – Rnd 6: 10 sc
Slst and Fasten off.

The second leg:

Do the same as the first leg until Rnd 6.
Rnd 7: Join 2 legs together: 6 sc on the second leg, chain 3, 10 sc on the first leg, then crochet 3 sc on the opposite side of the chains, 4 sc on the second leg. Total 26 stitches.
Rnd 8: 6 sc, 3 inc, 10 sc, 3 inc, 4 sc (32)
Change the color to mustard with the last stitch of Rnd 8.
Rnd 9 – Rnd 10: 32 sc (32)
Rnd 11: (6 sc, 1 dec_) * repeat 4 times (28)
Rnd 12: 28 sc (28)
Rnd 13: (5 sc, 1 dec) * repeat 4 times (24)
Rnd 14: 24 sc (24)
Rnd 15: (4 sc, 1 dec) * repeat 4 times (20)
Rnd 16: 20 sc (20)
Rnd 17: (3 sc, 1 dec) * repeat 4 times (16)
Change the color to light beige.
Rnd 18: BLO (2 sc, 1 dec) * repeat 4 times (12)
Slst, fasten off and leave a long tail.

Head : begin with light beige.

Rnd 1: 6 sc on the magic ring (6)
Rnd 2: 6 inc (12)
Rnd 3: (1 sc, 1 inc)* repeat 6 times (18)
Rnd 4: (2 sc, 1 inc)* repeat 6 times (24)

Slst and fasten off.

Arm : Make two Begin with beige

Rnd 1: 6 sc on the magic ring (6)
Rnd 2: 6 inc (12)
Rnd 3: 12 sc (12)
Change the color to mustard with the last stitch of Rnd 3
Rnd 4: (1 sc, 1 dec) * repeat 4 times (8)
Rnd 5 – Rnd 8: 8 sc (8)
Fasten off and leave a long tail.

Ear: Make two

You will crochet two separate pieces of the ear then crochet these pieces together to get a finished ear.
The front piece: begin with gray.
Row 1: chain 2, 5 sc on the first chain. (5)
Chain 1 and turn.
Row 2: 1 sc, 3 inc, 1 sc, chain 1, slst and fasten off. (8)
The behind piece: begin with light beige.
Row 1: chain 2, 5 sc on the first chain. (5)
Chain 1 and turn.
Row 2: 1 sc, 3 inc, 1 sc, chain 1, slst and fasten off. (8)
Chain 1 and turn. Put the front piece to the front of behind piece.
Row 3: 1 inchdc, 6 hdc, 1 inchdc, chain 2 , slst and fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing.

Scarf: Begin with grey.

Chain 25, 1 hdc on the second chain from the hook, 23 hdc, chain 1, slst and fasten off. (24)

Assembling

Sew head to the body: sew through 1 sc stitch on the body and 1 sc stitch on the head.
Do the same with the other stitches.

Sew the arm to the body :
Sew arm on the body at Rnd 3 from the neck

Sew ear to the head: the highest point of the ear is on Rnd 4 of the head. Use pins to pins the ears on its position and sew the ear.

Sew Nose: with dark brown yarn, sew the nose from Rnd 5 of the head count from the body. ( Rnd 14 of the head): width: 3 sts, height: 3 sts.

Sew eye: Sew eyes on Rnd 11 of the head, the width is 4 sc stitches.
space between eye and nose is 1 single crochet stitch.

Crochet the leaf: begin with green start crochet at Rnd 3 of the head.
Chain 6, sc on the second chain from the hook, 1 sc, slst
Then chain 4, sc on the second chain from the hook, 1 sc,
slst in the same chain with the first leaf, 2 slst to the next 2 stitches and fasten off.

Sew a button on the scarf.

Now it’s all done.
